About
Formerly known as the Barn Dogs, Birdsey Beers is emerging from an identity crisis. The band is led by singer songwriter Jerry Snover from Easton, CT. In Snover's early career he spent six years as a full-time professional musician expat in Osaka, Japan. Now living in Easton, CT he had created a musical home under the not so obscure name “Big Red Barn”, a 150-year-old barn now dedicated to supporting local music and events. It is there where he met Dan Broderick, Jody Matejka, and Jeff Gurner to complete the Easton based quartet of Birdsey Beers.
Birdsey’s influences are eclectic— their musical output includes creative re-imagining of songs from a wide range of artists, generating an energetic vortex akin to bands such as Goose, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and other varied artists. Birdsey also works in a catalogue of original music to round out their offerings including songs like Dancing Still, Paradise Home, Many Miles away, and others.
Birdsey's evolution and Jerry Snover's international musical background add intriguing layers to their story. With influences from jam band favorites and a skilled lineup, their New York debut promises to be an exciting milestone for the band.
